10
til 2: Liz Norwood, mother of
2, had 20+ years of print advertising, sales
and marketing experience and had always worked full-time
with the dream of finding the perfect part-time job. So
after her family moved to Denver, she decided to start a
business and call her own shots. Joining forces with
three like-minded women she met through networking, Liz
created an employment service called 10 til 2, which
places college-educated moms in long-term part-time
jobs. Together with her partners, Liz is building
a business that provides her -- and the clients of 10
til 2 -- with a meaningful solution to their work-life
challenges.
WorkOptions.com:
Pat Katepoo, stepmom of 2, was motivated
by a desire to help working mothers carve out more time
for their families. So she created a flexible work
options advisory service in 1993 using skills honed
during her first career as a registered dietitian.
Then in 1997, Pat shifted her services online in
1997 as WorkOptions.com. Through her website and the
sales of her very popular Flex Success Proposal
Templates, she has guided thousands of career
professionals—working mothers and others—through the
successful negotiation of a flexible work
arrangement.
